"Once you were Sumerian,
Or from Uruk.
Your wide eyes burned away my paper.
Where should I sketch my poetry?
On my chest? Or maybe on rocks?
I engraved my childhood in Kremat,
I hid between the alleys,
I look at women’s eyes;
My heart was young,
And fresh, like an orange.
I don’t know if I had ever loved you…
Or any of the others!
I saw you a thousand times,
I saw you yesterday, and a long while ago.
I saw you take nothing, and steal everything!"
